Intermediate English Language Program

Course Description: This course is designed to improve upon the language skills developed in the Basic level program. Once a student reaches this level, he or she should feel comfortable with other areas of study in English, such as literature, sciences, accounting or technology. The emphasis of the program is on grammar and the development of more elaborate structures in oral and written English.

At this level students learn how to prepare oral presentations and written assignments. Students will learn English grammar explanations for tenses, preposition use, proper sentence structure, clauses, adjectives, adverbs and more. Vocabulary resources include English vocabulary building, quizzes, use of idioms and popular expressions. Course focus on English listening skills includes comprehension exercises such as dialogues and quizzes. Furthermore, students will practice with difficult letter sounds, word stress and intonation to help others understand them better and improve their conversational English skills.
